The 2008 Recopa Sudamericana was the 16th edition of the CONMEBOL tournament contested between the champions of CONMEBOL's two continental tournaments. This year's edition was contested by the 2007 Copa Libertadores champion Club Atlético Boca Juniors and the 2007 Copa Sudamericana champion Arsenal Fútbol Club, both from Argentina. The home-away matches between the two clubs were played on August 13 and August 27. As the Copa Sudamericana champion, Arsenal played the first leg as the home team, with Boca Juniors as the home team in the second leg.

Boca Juniors won their 4^th Recopa Sudamericana title after accumulating the most points over the two legs (4 to Arsenal's 1). The title ties them in first place for the most international titles won by a club with 18.
