The 2006 Recopa Sudamericana was the 14^th edition of the CONMEBOL tournament contested between the champions of CONMEBOL's two continental tournaments. This year's edition was contested by the 2005 Copa Libertadores champion São Paulo and the defending champions Boca Juniors, who were simultaneusly the Copa Sudamericana holders. The home-away matches between the two clubs were played on August 13 and August 27. As the Copa Sudamericana champion, Arsenal played the first leg as the home team, with Boca Juniors as the home team in the second leg.

Boca Juniors won their 3^rd Recopa Sudamericana title after accumulating the most points over the two legs (4 to São Paulo's 1).
