Rajmond Debevec was born in Postojna, Slovenia, a part of the former Yugoslavia, on March 29, 1963. He became involved in shooting sports in 1971 and became a member of Junior national team in 1979. He won his first medal in 1980 by participating in Junior European Championship with air rifle. He represented Yugoslavia at the Olympic Games in 1984 & 1988 and Slovenia in 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004 & 2008. Among numerous medals and awards he has won, the most important is the 1st place at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, where he competed in the event 50 metre rifle three positions. He holds all world and Olympic records in this event.

  • World record 3-p, Munich WCF 1992, 1186 p. (still valid)
  • 4× world cup final winner in 3-p (1992,1993,2003,2006)

  • multiple WCh medalist in all events from crossbow, air rifle, 50m s-b rifle, to 300m big bore rifle
