Raffles Hospital in Singapore.

Raffles Hospital (Chinese: 莱佛士医院) is a tertiary care private hospital and the flagship of the Raffles Medical Group [1], a leading private healthcare provider in Singapore and South East Asia. It is located at the junction of North Bridge Road and Ophir Road, 20 minutes away from Changi Airport.

The hospital offers a full complement of specialist, medical and diagnostic services that spans across 35 disciplines. Its 16 specialist centres meet a wide variety of medical needs such as obstetrics and gynaecology, cardiology, oncology and orthopaedics. The hospital is equipped with a 24-Hour emergency unit (with specialists on call service), a family medicine centre, and specialist clinics. The hospital’s full range of medical and surgical facilities include day surgery suites, delivery suites, operating theatres, intensive care unit, neonatal intensive care unit, dental, radiology, clinical laboratory, pharmacy, dietetics and physiotherapy services.

The hospital also offer Traditional Chinese Medicine services since 2005 when it expanded its acupuncture services to include TCM herbs and TuiNa to its services. Its Japanese Clinic is well-received by the Japanese expatriate community in Singapore. The rooms at Raffles Hospital are outfitted to the standards of five-star hotels, with an array of suites, single, double, four and six-bedded rooms for patients to choose.

It was converted from the former Blanco Court when Pidemco-Raffles Properties bought over the former shopping centre S$200 million was spent. [1] It was officially opened in 16 March 2002 by then Deputy Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

Subscribing to the Group Practice model of collaborative care, the specialists of Raffles work as a team to ensure that patients have access to the best skills for their treatment and care. Medical services are integrated, reviewed and audited by medical peers.

On 13 December 2008, Raffles Hospital joined 220 healthcare organisations worldwide as a Joint Commission Institute (JCI) accredited hospital[2].
