Rafael Márquez Lugo (born November 2, 1981 in Mexico City, Mexico) is a Mexican football striker, who currently plays for Atlante F.C. of the Primera División de México. He is known as Márquez Lugo in order to differentiate between the Barcelona and Mexican National team player, Rafael Márquez Álvarez.

Márquez Lugo made his debut in the Primera División with UNAM Pumas in the 2000 Apertura, making one appearance as a substitute. Márquez Lugo played infrequently over the next two years, often as a substitute, making 38 appearances and scoring 9 goals. Márquez moved to Jaguares for the 2003 Clausura, but again saw little success, scoring only three goals in 28 appearances. In search of more playing time, he moved to Morelia for 2003, and at last emerged as a threat at forward. In the 2003 Clausura he scored seven goals in 13 appearances, and followed that with a team-leading 11 goals in 16 games during the Apertura 2004. In Clausura 2005, he scored 6 goals.

On June 11, 2007 Márquez, along with teammate Luis Gabriel Rey, were transferred to Pachuca for Luis Ángel Landín. On January 11, 2008 he was loaned to UAG Tecos. On June 11, 2008, Márquez along with Luis Gabriel Rey were loaned to Puebla. Puebla's head coach José Luis Sánchez Solá "El chelis" didn't want Márquez or Rey, so they both were released. Márquez eventually was loaned to América.[1][2][3]

For the Clausura 2009 he was transferred to Atlante.
