Potong Pasir Single Member Constituency (Traditional Chinese: 波東巴西單選區;Simplified Chinese: 波东巴西单选区) is a Single Member Constituency (SMC) in the central region of Singapore. The SMC encompasses Potong Pasir, Lorong 8 Toa Payoh and Sennett Estate. The constituency has existed since 1968. Its current Member of Parliament is opposition party Singapore Democratic Alliance's chairman, Chiam See Tong. Chiam has been the Member of Parliament for Potong Pasir SMC since 1984, when People's Action Party candidate Mah Bow Tan (who is currently the Minister for National Development) lost to the former in the 1984 general election. The seat is a hotly contested seat in the general elections. In the 2001 general election, Chiam See Tong won the seat by 751 votes to People's Action Party's Sitoh Yih Pin, clinching 52.4% of the votes.
