Cricket is a bat-and-ball team sport that originated in England and is now played in more than 100 countries. A cricket match is contested by two teams, usually of eleven players each^[1] and is played on a grass field in the centre of which is a flat strip of ground 22 yards (20 m) long called a pitch. A wicket, usually made of wood, is placed at each end of the pitch and used as a target.

The object of each team is to score more "runs" than the other team and so win the game.

Adam Craig Gilchrist (born 14 November 1971 in Bellingen, New South Wales), nicknamed Gilly or Church, is an Australian cricketer. He made his first-class debut in 1992, his first One Day International appearance in 1996 and his Test debut in 1999. He has been Australia's vice-captain in both forms of the game since 2000.

Gilchrist is an aggressive left-handed batsman and effective wicket-keeper, and is considered to be one of the best wicket-keeper-batsmen in the history of the game. His strike rate is amongst the highest in the history of both One-day and Test cricket and he currently holds the record for the second fastest century in Test match cricket. Gilchrist has previously been reprimanded for outbursts on the pitch and is also renowned for walking when he considers himself to be out.

This list shows all instances in which the Indian cricketer, Sachin Tendulkar has scored 100 runs or more in Test matches and One Day International (ODI) matches, organised by the International Cricket Council. Tendulkar has scored a total of 43 centuries in Test matches and 45 centuries in ODIs, each of which is a world record. He is yet to score a century in a Twenty20 international cricket match.
