[edit] Executive branch
The Government of the Republic of Serbia (Vlada Republike Srbije) is the main element of the executive branch of government in Serbia. It is led by the Prime Minister (Predsednik Vlade), commonly abbreviated to premier (premijer). The Prime Minister is chosen by the National Assembly on the proposal of the President who names the designate Prime Minister after talks with all parliamentary leaders. Ministers are nominated by the Prime Minister and confirmed by the Parliament. [edit] Legislative branchThe National Assembly of Serbia (Narodna skupština Republike Srbije) has 250 members elected for a four year term. Serbia has a multi-party system, with numerous parties in which no one party often has a chance of gaining power alone, and parties must work with each other to form coalition governments.
