However, this date is just presumed, because if Kaczyński dies, resigns or is removed from office, early elections would be called and until the next President is sworn-in, Sejm Marshal would serve as Acting President.

[edit] Former President's won't runFormer President Aleksander Kwaśniewski served two terms and is barred from running again. Kwaśniewski is still a popular figure and would have significant support if he could run. Lech Wałęsa, one-term President, who lost re-election in 1995, ran again in 2000, but received little support and didn't run in 2005 and probably won't run again. Two other former Presidents, Wojciech Jaruzelski (served 1989-1990) and Ryszard Kaczorowski (served 1989-1990 in exile) are also technically allowed to run, but this is highly unlikely (Jaruzelski would be 87 years in 2010 and Kaczorowski 91).
