When Mangin, a jaded French police inspector (Depardieu) starts to investigate a Tunisian drug ring, he finds his own morals being clouded by his interactions with the criminals and especially Noria (Marceau), the charming girlfriend of one of them.

The film was nominated for a César for Best Editing in 1986, as well as a Best Actor nomination for Depardieu. Depardieu also won the Best Actor award from the Venice Film Festival in 1985 for his performance of the conflicted Mangin.
