The Pewaukee School District is a school district in central Waukesha County, Wisconsin. The district serves the village and city of Pewaukee, Wisconsin. As of the 2006-2007 school year, the district had about 3000 students. The faculty and staff number about 230.

Pewaukee Lake Elementary School serves children in early childhood through 3rd grade. The principal is Deb Ristow.

Horizon Elementary serves grades 4 to 6. Its principal is Sandra Carter. This school, like Pewaukee Lake Elementary, requires "specials" such as art, gym, and music classes. In the 5th and 6th grades, students are offered band and choir. Unlike other activities, these take place an hour before school starts. In 6th grade, students participate in four "allied" classes: art, tech. ed. (woodshop), family and consumer education, and health. Each is held every other day for a quarter of the year. The purpose of "allied" classes is to allow students to sample some of the electives the can take the next year.

Asa Clark Middle School (ACMS) serves grades 7 and 8. The principal is Randy Daul. High academic standards and personal accountability are emphasized, with an emphasis on learning how to learn. Asa Clark has a wide variety of sports, such as volleyball, basketball, football, a dance squad, wrestling, cross country, and track and field. The school also has extra-curricular opportunities, such as Art Club, Drama Club, Forensics, Math Counts, LEGOS/Robotics, Honors Choir, and River Keepers.

Many activities once thought of as "extras" have become part of the curriculum. For example, robotics, drama, and forensics became elective classes in the 2007-2008 school year. There are also clubs for all of these electives.

The school was refaced several years ago and has instituted a large network of computers, smartboards, and projectors. Academically, the school has also committed itself to online classes, such as introductory C++, Java, Latin, AP world history, and several other courses. The foreign languages department (French and Spanish) has a large following and is well-developed for a school this size,^{[citation needed]} with three full-time teachers and one part-time teacher.

Also offered at the high school are a variety of Advanced Placement (AP) classes. These include English, biology, U.S. history, physics, calculus and several languages. Each year many students from the AP classes take the AP exam in the respective subject areas.

PHS is a WIAA Division 2 school in all sports except football, which is Division 3. The Pewaukee Pirates compete in the Woodland Conference. The school has two softball fields, a football field, and a newly constructed soccer field. Recently, the cross country team went to the state meet. The boys' basketball team advanced into the playoffs last year^[when?], and the football team made the 2007 and 2008 playoffs. In 2008, the poms team came in first place in state in their division. The wrestling team has been conference champion eight consecutive years, and sent nine individual wrestlers to state this year.^[when?]

In Academic Decathlon, PHS is a Division 2 school. In the 2006-2007 school year, when the topic was China, the team placed 3rd at the Milwaukee Regionals, advancing to 6th in the state. At the 2007 state competition, Pewaukee Acadec ranked 8th in Wisconsin and took the state title for Division 2. In the 2007-2008 school year, when the topic was the Civil War, the team placed 3rd at the Milwaukee Regionals, keeping their place from the previous year. At the state competition, they placed 3rd overall, winning the state division title again. They also placed 3rd in the Super Quiz Oral Relay.

In 2005, the Principal Marty VanHulle was voted Principal of the Year in Wisconsin.^{[citation needed]}
