General Peter J.M. van Uhm (born July 15, 1955 in Nijmegen) is the current Commander of the Dutch armed forces^[1]. He succeeded Dick Berlijn on April 17, 2008.

A 1976 graduate of the Koninklijke Militaire Academie, van Uhm is praised for his fair and effective style of management^[2].

Van Uhm's son, lieutenant Dennis van Uhm, was killed in a roadside bombing in Uruzgan, the southern province of Afghanistan just one day after his father's assignment^[3].
