Peter Doohan (born 2 May 1961 in Newcastle, New South Wales) is a former tennis player from Australia, who won one singles title (1984, Adelaide) and five doubles titles during his career. The right-hander reached his highest singles ATP-ranking on 3 August 1987, when he became the number 43 of the world. He currently resides in Fort Smith, Arkansas. He is best known for shockingly ousting two-time defending champion and top-seeded Boris Becker from the second round of Wimbledon in 1987.[1][2][3] Doohan played collegiately in the US with the University of Arkansas, where he won the NCAA doubles title in 1982. Doohan coached high school tennis at Donoho High School in Anniston, Alabama, for several years in the mid-1990s. He was instrumental to the subsequent tennis success of Mithila Vullaganti.
