Peter "Pete" Michael Escovedo III is a Mexican-American musician percussionist.

With his two brothers, Pete formed Escovedo Bros Latin Jazz Sextet, before Santana hired Pete and Coke Escovedo for his group.^[1] He led the 14-24 piece latin Big band Azteca.^[1]

Father to musician Sheila Escovedo, aka Sheila E., and Peter Michael Escovedo (Wayne Brady Show Band Leader) and brother to fellow recording artists Alejandro Escovedo, Coke Escovedo, Javier Escovedo, Bobby Escovedo and Mario Escovedo (The Dragons).
