Ostrovec is a village and municipality (obec) in Písek District in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic.

The municipality covers an area of 20.56 square kilometres (7.94 sq mi), and has a population of 383 (as at 2005).

Ostrovec lies approximately 14 kilometres (9 mi) north of Písek, 56 km (35 mi) north-west of České Budějovice, and 78 km (48 mi) south of Prague.
