One (also known as One HD or One Digital, and stylised as ONE) is a free-to-air Australian television channel, that commenced broadcasting on 26 March 2009 at 7.00pm in Melbourne (due to live coverage of the AFL) and at 7.30pm in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Hobart.[3] The channel, owned by Network Ten, features nonstop sport content including live sport and sports documentaries.[4] One broadcasts in high definition on Digital Channels 1 and 11, and has a standard definition simulcast on Digital Channel 12.

One HD was supposed to be a channel for Entertainment, Youth, Variety and Lifestyle, however, this was suddenly changed to a sports styled HD digital channel instead[5]. At launch, One replaced the previous Ten HD service and standard definition simulcast of Ten HD[citation needed], called TenSD2, which had been launched on 11 February 2009. The One channel in standard definition is not broadcast if Ten and One HD broadcast the same program in order to prevent channel duplication. One HD began broadcasting on Macquarie Media Group's owned and operated Southern Cross Ten regional television stations on Digital Channel 50 at 7.00pm on 2 July 2009. One HD's national campaign theme is "Chase that Feeling" by the Hilltop Hoods.[6]
