The new Omaha Royals Ballpark is a description of a new stadium in Papillion, Nebraska, that is currently in the development stages. It will be primarily used for baseball and will be the home of the Omaha Royals of the Pacific Coast League after the College World Series moves out of Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium in 2011. Originally, the Royals were to move to Downtown Omaha at the site of the new TD Ameritrade Park Omaha, but the team thought that this stadium would be too big for the team. The ballpark will cost $25 million to construct and will be located near 126th Street and Nebraska Highway 370[1]. On July 28, 2009, it was announced by Omaha Royals President Alan Stein and Sarpy County Board of Commissioners Chairwoman Joni Jones that groundbreaking for the new stadium will take place August 12, 2009.[2] [edit] See also[edit] External links[edit] References
