Olds College is a post-secondary institution located in Olds, Alberta, established in 1913 as Olds Agricultural College. Total student enrollment for the 2006/2007 year was 1,309.[2]
[edit] HistoryIn 1911, the provincial government, with the help of Geoff Stephenson, established three demonstration farms near Olds, Fairview, and near the Vermilion townsite. The Olds farm later became the Olds School of Agriculture, and today is Olds College. [edit] CampusOlds College has an urban campus in 640 14th Avenue SE Calgary, Alberta and in Olds, Alberta. The Olds Campus features a Botanic Garden and Campus Farm. [edit] ResearchThe School of Innovation conducts research on composting technology (including bio-gas energy), environmental microbiology, livestock genetics and nutrition, natural fibres, and new products from crops and bio-processing.
