AL-Bank Ligaen is the premier league in Danish ice hockey.
[edit] HistoryThe name is a result of a sponsorship deal with a danish bank Arbejdernes Landsbank. It is also known as Superisligaen or Eliteserien, which is the name used in the past and in times where no naming rights agreement is in place. The league will from the 2007-08 season consist of 10 teams who play a 45 game regular season. The top 8 proceed to the playoffs where quarterfinals, semifinals and the final are all played in the best of 7 game format. For the 2007-08 season a tenth team, TOTEMPO HvIK will join the league.
