Ocho Ríos (Spanish for "Eight Rivers") is a town on the northern coast of Jamaica, located in the parish of Saint Ann. It is a tourist destination.[citation needed] There is scuba diving and other water sports.
Ocho Rios was once a fishing village, but is now caters to the tourist industry. It is a stop for cruise ships going into the Caribbean. It is second in importance to the tourism industry of Jamaica.[citation needed]
Dunn's River Falls is an attraction that is visited by thousands of visitors each year.[citation needed] They cascade approximately 695 feet (212 m) into the sea. The falls are fed by springs located in the hills above.
Several resorts in Jamaica are located nearby , including the Sandals Grande Ocho Ríos. The north coast highway has been improved from the international airport at Montego Bay to Ocho Ríos—an hour and forty five minute drive. There are restaurants, night clubs in Margaritaville and Dolphin Cove, where visitors may swim and interact with dolphins.
