Night Shade Books is an independent publishing company based in San Francisco, specializing in science fiction, fantasy, and horror. It was started in 1998 and is currently run by Jason Williams and Jeremy Lassen. Night Shade won the 2003 World Fantasy Award (Non-Professional).

The company has published work by Kage Baker, Iain M. Banks, Elizabeth Bear, Glen Cook, Greg Egan, Steven Erikson, Matthew Hughes, Rhys Hughes, Douglas Lain, Jay Lake, H. P. Lovecraft, Andrew Migliore, Alastair Reynolds, Charles R. Saunders, John Shirley, S.P. Somtow, Harry Turtledove, Karl Edward Wagner and Zoran Zivkovic.
