[edit] Musical career

Born in Dominican Republic he moved with his family to Barrio Obrero, Puerto Rico, at age six. He got a certain rise in popularity after the release of his 2004 release of Vida Escante, and then in 2007 The Black Carpet which is currently his most recent album under Pina Records. With special guests like RKM & Ken-Y. Nicky Jam has worked with the likes of Daddy Yankee, Don Chezina, Lito & Polaco , Big Boy , RKM & Ken-Y and Héctor & Tito in the past. He has appeared in many reggaeton albums, currently holding the record for most appearances on various artist CDs which was formerly held by Daddy Yankee. He has been in reggaeton since his young years and met with Daddy Yankee back when they were recording with Guatauba and DJ Playero. Unfortunately an incident caused him and Daddy Yankee to end their friendship.

Despite being one of the mainstream Reggaeton artists he has yet to do a concert in Puerto Rico's Coliseum. He was however present at the concerts of Hector & Tito , Daddy Yankee , Lito & Polaco and RKM & Ken-Y at those venues.
