A neurohormone is any hormone produced and released by neurons.[1]

Examples include:

In contrast to the classical hormones oxytocin and ADH, which are released to the blood and distributed throughout the body,[7][8] neurotransmitters can be considered paracrine hormones as they travel short distances to target cells.[9]
