Neil Hlavaty (born 27 December 1986, Lombard, Illinois) is an American soccer player who is currently a midfielder for Jagiellonia Białystok. He is of Czech and Polish descent (his father is Czech, mother is Polish)[1].

[edit] Professional career

In 2007, Hlavaty signed with Cleveland City Stars of the USL Second Division, helping the squad win the league. After the 2007/08 campaign, during which Neil recorded 3 assists in 15 matches, Hlavaty transferred to Swedish outfit Östers IF for six months.[2] In October 2009, Hlavaty signed with Polish outfit Jagiellonia Białystok.[3].

During Hlavaty's junior year at Boston University, Neil was Selected to the National Soccer Coaches' Association of America All-Northeast Region Second Team as well as named America East Midfielder of the Year.[4] Hlavaty is also a free-kick specialist as he directed every set piece throughout his junior year.[5] During his sophomore year, Hlavaty started in all of BU's 19 matches and was also selected to the All-America East First Team.[6]
