[edit] Biography

Fares was born in Kfar Shlil, a small village in Southern Lebanon, near Kafarhatta village.

Fares took ballet lessons from age five, and at age nine earned first place on Tele-Liban (Al Mawahib Al Saghira) in Oriental dance. She registered at the National Conservatory of Music and studied musicology for four years.

At age 16, she participated in the Lebanese Song Festival where she won first prize for the public Lebanese song nomination. At 17 she participated in Studio el Fan 2000, representing the district of South Lebanon and earned first prize.

At age 21, Fares signed her first record deal with Music Master International, and launched her debut album, "Myriam", on October 21, 2003. Her music video for the hit song "Ana Wel Shouk" became one of the most requested music videos as soon as it was broadcasted on local and cable television.

Fares's next move was to shoot her second music video for "La Tis'alni", directed by Salim El Turk. In the video, Faris portrayed two different characters. During Myriam's promotional tour for her album in Egypt she was named "Best Female Young Artist" for that video.

Myriam's second album Nadini was released in 2005. The first single was "Nadini". "Haelek Rahtak" came next, and the third single was "Waheshni Eih".

Her third album Bet'oul Eih was released in 2008, the first single is "Moukanoh Wein". The second single "Mouch Ananiya" became a big hit. The third and fourth singles, "Iyam El Chitti" and "Betrouh", were also successful.

In 2008, she was picked to appear in adverts for Sunsilk shampoo and Freshlook contact lenses, somewhat less high profile than her rival Nancy Ajram's Coca-Cola campaign.

She was cast in her first acting role as the main actress in the movie remake of the Rahbani's theater play "Silina".[1][2]
