This is a list of municipalities of the canton of Vaud (communes du canton de Vaud) in Switzerland. There are 376 municipalities in the canton of Vaud right now, but all together there have been 400 municipalities including the mergers and the communes that they have merged into. Vaud is the canton with the 2nd most municipalities (after Berne).

On January 1, 1961:

• The municipalities of Bussy-sur-Morges and Chardonney-sur-Morges merge to form Bussy-Chardonney

On January 1, 1970:

• The municipalities of Lavey and Morcles merge to form Lavey-Morcles

On January 1, 1970:

• The municipalities of Romainmôtier and Envy merged to form Romainmôtier-Envy.

On January 1, 1999:

• The municipalities of Lussery and Villars-Lussery merge to form Lussery-Villars.

On January 1, 2002:

• The municipalities of Champmartin and Cudrefin merge under the name of Cudrefin.

On January 1, 2003:

• The municipalities of La Rogivue and Maracon form the municipality Maracon.

On January 1, 2005:

• The municipalities of Arrissoules and Rovray form the municipality Rovray.

On January 1, 2006:

• The municipalities of Villarzel, Rossens and Sédeilles merge to form Villarzel.

On January 1, 2006:

• The municipalities of Avenches and Donatyre merged to form Avenches.

On January 1, 2008:

• The municipalities of Donneloye, Gossens and Mézery-près-Donneloye merged to form Donneloye
