Mountain View High School is a 4-year public high school in the El Monte Union High School District, in the city of El Monte, California.

[edit] Bell schedule

The school day lasts from 8:00 AM to 1:53 PM, that consists of 6 periods. Some Students are involved in a 7th period. 7th period ends at 2:49. Mountain View goes through block schedule, meaning each day students may have 3-4 periods. Purple days are 1,3,5, and 7 period. Gold Days are 2,4,6, and 7 period.

Students must have completed a minimum of 220 credits, including all required coursework, and pass the CAHSEE to participate in the graduation ceremony and receive a diploma. In order for a student to become a valedictorian, he/she must obtain a 4.2 GPA by the end of the 1st semester of their senior year. A student can graduate with gold honors if he/she is a 3 year member of CSF.

The soccer team is the most successful sport in recent years at MVHS. They brought home the first ever CIF championship in the school's history in 2005 and 2009, and reached the Semi final in 2008.
