Motormaster is a fictional character from the Transformers universe.[1] Because Hasbro had difficulties trademarking the name Motormaster, many toys later released as homage to him were called Menasor.

Motormaster is the leader of the Stunticons, an all-car group created by Megatron to counter the dominance of the Autobots on the road. He formed the main body of the group's combined form Menasor. He was a cold and cruel warrior, who longs to take the title of "King of the Road" from Optimus Prime. His vehicle mode was a semi-trailer with a top speed of 140 mph. In robot mode he was armed with a cyclone gun capable of producing winds up to 400 mph. Motormaster rules the Stunticons by fear, not by respect. Even among the Decepticons, the Stunticons are an incoherent team, who rarely agree with each other, least of all with Motormaster.[2]

[edit] Marvel Comics

Through Soundwave, Megatron is able to tap into the Creation Matrix as Optimus Prime gave life to the Aerialbots, simultaneously giving life to the Stunticons. They battle the Aerialbots.

Motormaster appears in issue #41 "Totaled!" He is among the Decepticon forces that attack the Autobots on the moon.[3]

[edit] Animated Series

Motormaster first appeared with the other Stunticons in the episode "The Key To Vector Sigma Part 1". He was created after Megatron ordered the theft of five vehicles, from which he would create a group of Decepticon warriors to more effectively fight the Autobots on the roads. After being extensively modified by Megatron to become almost impervious to collision damage, Motormaster and the other Stunticons were taken to Vector Sigma to receive personalities of their own.[4]

Menasor last appeared in the U.S. series in the third season episode "The Return of Optimus Prime Part 2."[5]

He last appeared individually in episode #26 of the Japanese Headmasters series, called "I Risk my Life for Earth." He was among the Decepticon troops who cheered on Zarak's leadership speech after the seeming destruction of Galvatron.[6]

The combined form of the Stunticons continued to appear in the series, last seen in Transformers: Zone as one of the Decepticon generals.

[edit] Dreamwave Productions

Motormaster on Cybertron

Unlike previous continuities, Motormaster and the other Stunticons were not portrayed as recently created characters, but were Decepticons from Cybertron millions of years ago, like most other Decepticons. Initially just five individual Decepticons, the five who would become Stunticons were chosen in an experiment to improve on the combiner process which had created Devastator. Their combined form was called Menasor.

Motormaster was a member of Starscream's Predacon team in the second War Within story.[7]

In volume 3 of the War Within series, Motormaster was responsible for the shooting and near destruction of Grimlock (while attempting to assassinate Ultra Magnus) before being blasted himself. The series was discontinued before it was completed.[8]

The Stunticons then appeared in the second Generation 1 mini-series where Menasor was revived by Rumble and Frenzy, attacking the Omnibots, Roadbuster, Whirl, and damaging the Protectobots (combined as Defensor) before battling and being defeated by Ultra Magnus on Cybertron. With the closure of Dreamwave, the fate of the Stunticons is unknown.

[edit] Devil's Due Comics

Motormaster appeared in G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers (vol. 2) #2. Due to a space bridge accident the Stunticons and Optimus Prime were transported to 1930's Chicago where they were left locked in stasis, in the forms of local vehicles. They were found by a mob boss who used them in crimes. Roadblock, Beachhead, the Baroness and a Cobra Viper were sent to recover the lost Transformers, not knowing exactly who they would find, but with the mission to get them back. Motormaster was going to be used for a bank robbery. Although the human team recovered Optimus Prime first, the Stunticons ran wild in 1930's Chicago and had to be subdued before they could be returned to Cybertron.

Motormaster appeared in G.I. Joe vs. the Transformers: The Art of War issue #3-4 where he was one of the Decepticon troops of Serpent O.R.

[edit] IDW Publishing

As with Dreamwave Productions, Mototmaster first appeared as a pre-existing character rather than a recent creation. Motormaster first appeared inappeared amongst Megatron's gathering of gladiators that would eventually become the Decepticons in issue 3 of IDW Publishing's The Transformers: Megatron Origin. In issue 4 Motormaster is blown apart by Sentinel Prime during the revolution in Kaon. Whether he will appear again is unknown.
