Mohamed Lemine Ould Guig was Prime Minister of Mauritania from 1997 to 1998. A member of the Republican Party for Democracy and Renewal, Guig was the Prime Minister between stints by Cheikh El Avia Ould Mohamed Khouna. At the time of his appointment, Guig was a 39 year old political novice.^[1]
