Mohamed Hedi El Amri

Mohamed Hedi El Amri (1906 – 1978) was a Tunisian historian and writer born in the little Tunisian town by the name of Kalaa Sghira. After Graduating at the Zitouna university at age 20, he started teaching in an Islamic school in Tunis, in 1928 he is designated as headmaster of an Islamic school in Monastir where he was to spend about 20 years of his life.

He contributed largely to the Tunisian and Egyptian press with many publications dealing with diverse subjects on politics, culture, religion and sociology. From the time of the independence he was continuously participating in national radio shows intended to elevate public awareness and comprehension of national issues.

His principal works are "The history of the Maghreb throughout 7 centuries", "Independence day memories" and "Tunisia throughout the centuries"
