The Military of Togo consists of three branches dedicated to the protection of the sovereign state of Togo. These branches include the army, navy, air force, and gendarmerie, and have an available manpower of 1,220,758 men between the ages of 15 and 49 (2002 est.) [edit] Air ForceThe Togolese Air Force (French: Force Aérienne Togolaise) was established after independence in 1960, and a French influence remains on the aircraft used both in its history and now. The C-47 Skytrain was the first aircraft used; it was part of the force from 1960 to 1976. The current TAF consists of the following aircraft:
