The Amazon Dwarf Squirrel or Guianan Squirrel, Microsciurus flaviventer, is a small chipmunk-size squirrel species from South America. It is found in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. It was discovered by Gray in 1867. It is mainly active during the day. It feeds on fruit, the latex of certain trees and certain artropods. It is mostly solitary in sociability but may be found with others feeding on the same tree. It mostly lives in trees but may come down to the ground from time to time.
