Michael Wainwright born 4 November 1980 in England is a rugby league player for the Castleford Tigers in the European Super League.

Michael Wainwright's position of choice is on the wing.

Michael is not the fastest winger in the league but he gives his all every game and is solid.

Wainwright established himself as a fans favourite for Castleford in 2008 with his solid play and never say die attitude. He signed a 1 year deal to stay at Cas for the 2009 season.

For 2009 Wainwright was not in the starting line up for the start of the season. Due to injuries he was called back into the side and gave some solid performances. He was rewarded with a new deal for the 2010 season.
