Michael Ratu is a professional rugby league player who plays for Leeds Rhinos. His usual position is Centre although he made his First Team debut on the Wing as a substitute against Salford Reds in August 2007.

Before joining Leeds, he played for Higgleshaw Cagies and he played for them when they won the Oldham Cup. He also played for Wigan Warriors. He signed a three-year contact with the Rhinos despite Wigan offering him a new contact.^[1]. He has played for the Rhinos' academy since 2004. Although he has played for the Rhinos' first team, he is currently mostly playing in the academy. He played for the Fiji Bati in the 2009 Pacific Cup.

He has signed a two year deal with Hull KR^[2].

His favourite sportsperson is Muhammed Ali.^{[citation needed]} The person he most admires in the game is Lesley Vainikolo.^{[citation needed]} He supports both Leeds Rhinos and Manchester United.^{[citation needed]}

Ratu was schooled at Falinge Park High School near Shawclough, where one of his signed shirts still hangs today.

He has represented England U15's ad U16's and has also played for Lancashire and Fiji^[3].
