Michael Monaghan is an Australian professional rugby league footballer who plays for the Warrington Wolves in the European Super League. He was born 13 May, 1980, in Canberra A.C.T.

He made his 1st Grade debut with the Canberra Raiders against the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks on 16 June 2001.

Monaghan's junior club was Tuggeranong Buffaloes and his preferred position is halfback. He played with the Canberra Raiders from 2001 to 2003. His younger brother, Joel Monaghan, plays for the Canberra Raiders.

Monaghan joined Manly in 2004 as halfback, but changed to hooker at the start of the 2006 season due to the purchase of halfback Matt Orford from the Melbourne Storm.

He played in the 2007 NRL grand final defeat to the Melbourne Storm.[1]

The 27-year-old joined Manly team-mate Chris Hicks in moving to the Warrington Wolves for the 2008 season. [2]

Since Todd Carney was sacked by the Canberra Raiders rumours have emerged of him linking up with his former club Canberra and playing alongside brother Joel Monaghan again. [3]

AWARDS: 2006 Ken Stephen award.
