Michael Korkidas (born 12 January, 1981) is an Australian/Greek rugby league player who currently plays in the Super League for the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats. He primarily plays at prop forward.

[edit] Playing career

While attending Marist College Kogarah, Korkidas played for the Australian Schoolboys team in 1998.[1]

Korkidas made his professional rugby league career playing for the Sydney Roosters in the NRL in Australia in 2001, playing there until the end of 2002. He has played in the Super League since 2003, playing for several club like Wakefield Trinity Wildcats (2003 - 2006), Salford City Reds (2007 - 2008), Castleford Tigers (2008), Huddersfield Giants (2009) and returning to the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats in 2009.

Korkidas captained Greece during their 44–26 victory over Serbia in Athens on 28 October, 2006.[2]

He signed with Huddersfield Giants on a three year contract from 2009 after negotiating a release from Castleford for his final season.[3][4]. However, in late May 2009, it was announced that Korkidas will return to Wakefield mid-season in a deal with both clubs.[5]
