Counties County Mayo
EP constituency North–West

Mayo is a parliamentary constituency represented in Dáil Éireann, the lower house of the Oireachtas (the parliament of Ireland). The constituency elects 5 deputies (Teachtaí Dála, commonly known in English as TDs). The method of election is the Single Transferable Vote form of proportional representation (PR-STV).

The constituency was created in 1995 by combining the former constituencies of Mayo East and Mayo West, and used for the first time in the 1997 General Election. It spans the entire area of Mayo County Council, all of the Connacht county of Mayo. These areas include Castlebar, Westport and Ballina. Geographically, Mayo is the largest constituency in Ireland.

Presently, the leader of Fine Gael and the Leader of the Opposition, Enda Kenny is one of the most high-profile TDs from the constituency. His party colleague, Michael Ring, is outspoken on a range of issues. Beverley Flynn was elected as an Independent TD, having been expelled from Fianna Fáil after losing a libel action against RTÉ. She was readmitted to Fianna Fáil in 2008, after settling with the broadcaster. Her father, Pádraig Flynn, served the constituency from 1977 to 1993 before his retirement from domestic politics. Dara Calleary's father and grandfather both represented Mayo in Dáil Éireann for many years. John O'Mahony is the current manager of Mayo's Gaelic football team.
