Matty Smith is an English rugby league footballer who plays for Salford City Reds in the engage Super League.

Shaun McRae has labelled the Saints youngster as the heir-apparent successor to scrum-half Sean Long at the Super League club..

Before rugby he had a youth career with Everton FC and appeared in the reserve team occasionally.

Smith was revealed as one of the Celtic Crusaders' new recruits on 26 November 2008, and will play for the Welsh franchise in their first season in the Super League.
