Masconomet Regional High School is located in Boxford, Massachusetts, and serves the towns of Boxford, Middleton and Topsfield. Masconomet Regional Middle School serves grades 7 and 8 while the Masconomet Regional High School serves grades 9 through 12. Both schools are located on the same property.
[edit] LocationThe school is located on Endicott Street in Boxford right off Exit 51 on US Interstate 95. Masconomet is believed by many to be in Topsfield, but it physically sits in the Town of Boxford. The reason for the confusion is because the school has its mail routed through the Topsfield P.O. and lists Topsfield as its address on the school's official web site. Additionally, it is on Endicott St, which only exists in Boxford. Endicott St continues on into Topsfield, but becomes Washington St after passing the town line. [edit] HistoryMasconomet Regional High School was named after Chief Masconomet, sagamore of the Agawam tribe that lived in Essex County at the time of the English colonization. The original school building was constructed in 1959. [edit] ClassesMasconomet offers a variety of classes, from ordinary college-prep courses to classes in basic medical training. The school offers both First Responder and EMT-B classes, mostly to juniors and seniors in the high school. There are also AP and honors classes in every subject. In 2008, history teacher David B. Mitchell won National History Teacher of the Year[1]. [edit] AthleticsMasco plays in the Cape Ann League. The school's colors are Red & White . Their biggest rivals are North Andover, Wilmington, and Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School in Hamilton.
