The Marvel Database Project is an online encyclopedia for information on Marvel Comics' fictional universe, and all related media. Aside from the Marvel Universe comic books, they also cover the related films and television series. The content on the site is cataloged extensively entirely by fans, and is almost entirely written in an in-universe perspective.^[1] Although it is an unofficial organization, the site has at times been used by Marvel staff such as Joe Quesada.^[2] The site was founded by Jamie Hari in 2005, who has said "Marvel is my world".^[3] Hari also created the DC Database Project. The site is hosted by Wikia, and as of 2009 it is their sixth biggest wikis.^[4]
