Mark O'Meley (born 22 May 1981 in West Wyalong, New South Wales) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer for the Sydney Roosters of the National Rugby League (NRL) competition. He previously played for the North Sydney Bears, the ill fated Northern Eagles and the Bulldogs. O'Meley's position of choice is at prop-forward.

O'Meley is a member of the Bulldogs' 2004 Premiership winning team in their 16–13 win over the Sydney Roosters.

O'Meley was first selected to represent New South Wales as a front-rower for game II of the 2001 State of Origin series. He has also represented in the 2002, 2004 and 2006 Origin series.

In 2004, O'Meley was selected as an interchange player for the Australian Kangaroos in the 2004 Tri-Nation series. In his first game he scored one try. Since then, O'Meley has participated in the 2005 and 2006 Tri-Nation series as well as Tests against France and New Zealand.

O'Meley is nicknamed the Ogre for his shaved head and burly figure.

While originally not selected, he was selected for City in the City vs Country match on 8 May 2009, due to injury to another player.[1]

[edit] 2009 and beyond

He has announced that he would be leaving the Roosters at the end of the 2009 to join European Super League club Hull FC along with Roosters team-mates Craig Fitzgibbon and Jordan Tansey.[2][3]
