Mark Lea Hardy (born February 1, 1959 in Samedan, Switzerland) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman who played 15 seasons in the National Hockey League from 1979 until 1994.

[edit] NHL career

Hardy was raised in the West Island of Montreal and played alongside Denis Savard on the Montreal Juniors hockey team where he starred before being drafted 30th overall by the Los Angeles Kings in the 1979 NHL Entry Draft. He played 915 career NHL games, scoring 62 goals and 306 assists for 368 points while adding 1293 penalty minutes. His best offensive season was the 1984–85 season when he set career highs with 14 goals, 53 points and eight power-play goals. In the 1992–93 season Hardy went to the Stanley Cup Finals with the Los Angeles Kings (a highlight of that series is a hit on Mike Keane of the Montreal Canadiens). Retiring from the NHL as a Los Angeles King in 1994 Hardy decided to coach. He currently serves as an assistant coach for the Kings.

[edit] International

Hardy played for Team Canada at the World Championships in 1986.
