Maria Elena Camerin (born 21 March 1982, in Motta di Livenza, Italy) is a professional female tennis player from Italy. On 11 October 2004, Camerin reached her career-high singles ranking: World No. 41. [edit] CareerCamerin, who lives in London, England, is a professional tennis player for Italy. She turned pro in 2000.[1] As of 2007, Camerin had reached one singles final in Portoroz, Slovenia, where she lost to Tamira Paszek by the score of 7–5, 6–1. At the 2007 US Open she gave Serena Williams a tough match, but eventually lost 7–5, 6–2. She lost to Kim Clijsters 6-0, 6-0 in the first round of the 2003 Australian Open. In the first round at Wimbledon 2009, Camerin lost to Shahar Pe'er of Israel, 6-2, 7-6 (3). [edit] External links
