Miss Universe 1966, Margareta Arvidsson of Sweden, along with her court, which included delegates from Finland, Israel, Thailand, and India.

Margareta Arvidsson was crowned as the 1966 Miss Universe. Born in Vänersborg, raised in Göteborg, she is the second Swedish beauty to hold the crown, 11 years after Hillevi Rombin.

She also won the Miss Photogenic title.

It is not a secret that Margareta did not want to win the pageant. She was suffering from homesickness and was ready to withdraw several times and resign even shortly after winning her title.

After her reign as Miss Universe, Margareta became a fashion model for the Ford Modeling Agency and went on to appear on stage in and in film.

In March 1999, she was a guest of honor at the 50th Anniversary of the Miss Sweden Pageant.
