Manuel Lapuente Diaz (born May 15, 1944) is a Mexican football coach and former player. He was recently working as vice president of football operations for Club América until he resigned in hopes of returning to active coaching. He played 13 matches for the Mexico national team, scoring 5 goals. He coached Mexico at the 1998 FIFA World Cup, and lead the squad to win the FIFA 1999 Confederations Cup. At the club level, he has coached Puebla F.C., Necaxa and Club América to Mexican league titles during his tenure as a manager. He formerly coaches Tigres of UANL Tigres. [edit] External links
