Man of Steel
Awarded for Best player of the Super League season
Presented by Rugby Football League
Country United Kingdom
First awarded 1977

The Man of Steel Award is the annual award for the best rugby league player in the Super League competition.

Started in 1977, the Man of Steel Award annually honours the outstanding player in the British game. Originally voted on by members of the Rugby Football League press and, from 2008, by Super League players themselves, the award has often bypassed the top try scorer, winning captain or great International player.[citation needed]

The award is club and country blind - the success of the player's club is irrelevant and winners include Australians and a New Zealander.
