"Mama Africa" is the fourth single from Akon's second album, Konvicted. The song was written and produced by Hakim Abdul-Samad of The Boys now known as The Suns of Light. It was released to radio stations on May 15, 2007. The official remix features 50 Cent. Akon sings homage to his homeland, Africa.

"Mama Africa" was b-listed at radio station BBC Radio 1 but missed the UK top forty upon the single release of the song, peaking at number forty-seven. It was his second single to miss the top forty, the first being "Pot of Gold" [1] [2].

A video for "Mama Africa" was shot for the single in October, 2006, however the video is yet to be released, despite the single receiving a full single release in the UK [3] [4]
