Andrew "Maggot" Major is a Welsh rapper who is the tallest member of the band Goldie Lookin Chain. He lives in London and is currently attending the London School of Film and Television.
[edit] Goldie Lookin ChainSeveral Goldie Lookin Chain songs have been written about him. These include "The Maggot" (from Greatest Hits); based on the tune of "You've Got to Pick a Pocket or Two" from the musical Oliver! and "Maneater" by Hall & Oates together with a Steeleye Span hook. "The Maggot" also namechecks Fagin, Dick Turpin, Penelope Keith and Kylie Minogue and features fellow GLC member Mystikal. Another song, "Maggot at Midnight" (from Safe as Fuck), namechecks Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Nosferatu, The show The Crystal Maze, Michael Jackson and Jackson's song "Thriller" and features a sample from the television show 'Danger Mouse'. Another short track he features on is called "Maggot's Stand-Up" where Maggot does a short stand-up comic style set; it mostly features scatological references. Maggot also identifies himself as The Hip Hop Vampire, which is one of his aliases. He also claims to have done a wheelie on a Penny Farthing (Big Wheel Up!). [edit] Personal lifeMaggot worked in a Pot Noodle factory for three years in the 90s, it is the longest job he has ever had and the only one he has never been sacked from. Maggot is currently looking for a wife and plans to settle down and move to Scotland to run a small hold farm. In 2009 while on tour with the GLC, Maggot searched for the lost children he conceived during the last five years of touring the country with Goldie Lookin Chain. He is reported to have fathered six children, two in Leeds, one in Glasgow and one in Manchester. The locations of his other offspring are unknown. Maggot's favourite colour is blue and his favourite food is a Birdseye chicken kiev. [edit] Origin of his nicknameHe acquired his nickname after friends decided that as a child he looked like a maggot while wearing his pink puffer jacket. [edit] Celebrity Big BrotherHe appeared in the fourth series of Celebrity Big Brother in 2006, finishing third, trailing Michael Barrymore and eventual winner Chantelle Houghton. He was noted by viewers for not taking any particular side in any of the arguments that took place. He has not been invited back to any Big Brother reunion shows due to a reported sexual encounter with a member of the Big Brother production crew. [edit] External links
