The Lusíada University (Universidade Lusíada, Portuguese pronunciation: [univɨɾsiˈdad(ɨ) luˈziɐdɐ]) is a Portuguese private university. It was founded in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1986. It later opened branches in the Portuguese cities of Porto and Vila Nova de Famalicão, and abroad in Angola at Luanda, Benguela, and Cabinda. It is one of seven recognized universities, both private and public, in Angola.[1]

The university's motto is sol lucet omnibus ("The sun shines over everyone").
