Luis Ángel Landín (born July 23, 1985 in Zamora) is a Mexican soccer player who currently plays for Houston Dynamo in Major League Soccer.
[edit] Career[edit] ProfessionalLandín began his footballing career as a talent in the youth development system of the Pachuca football club, also known as the "Pachuca Juniors." Landín made Mexican First Division debut in 2004 with the Pachuca senior team and played with the club until 2007. For the apertura season of 2007, Landín was sold to Monarcas Morelia where he used to serve as a striker. For the clausura season of 2009, he was sold to Cruz Azul to start as a striker. Landín signed with Major League Soccer side Houston Dynamo on August 20, 2009[1]. He also became Houston's first Designated Player[2]. [edit] InternationalLandín made his Mexican national team debut, under the direction of Hugo Sanchez, in Copa America 2007 where he was called in to replace an injured Jared Borgetti. Landín made an appearance in two matches. He also played for Mexico U-23 in the 2008 CONCACAF Men's Pre-Olympic Tournament where Mexico failed to qualify to the Olympics, Landín was criticized for his poor performance and his constant failure to score goals. He scored 2 goals at the tournament. [edit] PersonalIn 2009, Landín married his girlfriend Viridiana.[3] The couple are expecting their first child.
